The Missouri History Museum will relaunch its Twilight Thursdays concert series on Sept. 4, marking the return of fall programming after May’s tornado. At the opening concert, President and CEO Jody Sowell will give remarks, followed by a moment of silence for those affected.
The series kicks off Sept. 4 with The Music of Usher, led by J.C. on vocals and Billy Gritz of the Just in Time Band. The performance will feature hits such as “Yeah!,” “Good Good,” “You Make Me Wanna,” and “Bad Girl.”
The lineup continues with:
Sept. 11 – Tribute to Frankie Beverly & Maze
Originally scheduled for May, this performance honors singer, songwriter, and producer Frankie Beverly, known for hits like “Joy and Pain” and “Before I Let Go.” Dakota, Keith Conway and Jeremiah Allen, who also serves as music director, will provide vocal performances. Guests are encouraged to wear all white in Beverly’s memory.
Sept. 18 – Music from Then ’til Now
This high-energy show blends Motown, blues, disco and soul. HoneyVox serves as lead vocalist and music director.
Sept. 25 – Tribute to Charlie Wilson & The Gap Band
The fall series closes with a tribute to The Gap Band, featuring hits like “Shake,” “Yearning,” “Burn Rubber,” “Outstanding” and “Humpin’.”
Visitors can enjoy food from local trucks or bring their own picnic baskets. The Museum’s galleries, including The 1904 World’s Fair and the newest exhibit, Collected, will stay open late. Free access to the STL Loop Trolley, parking throughout Forest Park, and accessible parking near the Museum make the concerts easy to attend.
