{"id":47875,"date":"2025-11-21T15:25:34","date_gmt":"2025-11-21T15:25:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saucemagazine.com\/?p=47875"},"modified":"2025-11-21T15:25:36","modified_gmt":"2025-11-21T15:25:36","slug":"dd-maus-new-webster-groves-restaurant-opens-with-expanded-menu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saucemagazine.com\/places-2\/places\/dd-maus-new-webster-groves-restaurant-opens-with-expanded-menu\/","title":{"rendered":"DD Mau\u2019s new Webster Groves restaurant opens with expanded menu"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ddmaustl.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DD Mau<\/a>, the modern Vietnamese restaurant known for its fresh flavors and creative takes on classics, opens the doors to its new Webster Groves location today, Friday, Nov. 21, at 8169 Big Bend Blvd. The move marks a major step forward for the fast-casual favorite, which outgrew its longtime home on Allen Avenue after more than a decade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ve long been fans of DD Mau\u2019s bright, housemade Vietnamese dishes, and we even highlighted their standout <a href=\"https:\/\/www.saucemagazine.com\/places-2\/eat-these-roti-shell-tacos-at-dd-mau-vietnamese-eatery-18198618\/\">roti shell tacos in our Eat This column<\/a> earlier this year. And after attending the restaurant\u2019s soft opening this week, we can confirm another must-order: DD Mau is serving some of the best wings in town. (Don\u2019t miss owner <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=_Qb5QLFSZ5c\">Julie Shih\u2019s episode on The Sauce podcast<\/a>, where she shares more about the restaurant\u2019s evolution.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new 6,000-square-foot space, formerly home to Weber\u2019s Front Row, gives DD Mau room to stretch into the vision Shih said she\u2019s been working toward for years. \u201cWe finally have the space we dreamed of,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s been in the works for two years, and now it\u2019s really coming to life.\u201d The spacious dining room, larger kitchen and added event area allow the team to host private dinners, parties and corporate gatherings, something Shih says customers have increasingly asked for. \u201cWe hope we can host more events and try fun new items, things like beef dumplings and potstickers,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The relocation also brings new features to the menu experience. DD Mau now holds a beer and wine license, giving diners a curated beverage selection to pair with their pho, b\u00e1nh m\u00ec, noodle bowls and those now-essential wings. Diners can also expect rotating seasonal specials and the debut of DD Mau\u2019s small-batch, house-made chile oil, which will be available for retail purchase starting in December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For Shih, expanding while many restaurants face headwinds is both humbling and energizing. \u201cHonestly, I feel very fortunate,\u201d she said. \u201cI think we\u2019re lucky, and the food is really good.
